Porsche Unveils Stylish Electric Bicycle Line
Conquer your daily commute in style with these Porsche Taycan-inspired e-bikes.
Porsche has proven it can deliver a successful performance EV and then some in the Taycan, variants of which have won awards from MotorTrend, What Car? and other expert automotive outlets. Now Porsche is logically applying its electrical propulsion prowess to bicycles.
Both bikes utilize a carbon frame inspired by the EV’s flyline and a motor made by cycling behemoth Shimano’s EP8, which assists in pedaling up to 16 mph, offers haptic feedback, and seamlessly mounts behind the crankset.
The first and more necessarily more aggressive of the two bikes is the Porsche eBike Cross. Designed for taking on treacherous terrain, key components include Magura-MT trail disc brakes, a Shimano XT rear derailleur, a Fox 35 Performance fork with a Fox Float FPX damper, and an adjustable Crankbrothers seat post.
For everyday commuting, the Porsche eBike Sport gets a Magura four-piston rear brake caliper and Magura Cockpit Integration, which hides the brake and shifting cables inside of the frame and handlebars. Supernova lighting integrated in to the stem and seat post elevate the aesthetic, while smartphone connectivity adds an unspecified layer of status monitoring ability.
Available now from Porsche’s website, the eBike Cross retails for $11,750 and the eBike Sport for $9,500.
