Attendees at the State Fair of Texas were treated to a first look at the Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition. While not quite as mind-bogglingly dark as the one-off X6 BMW recently presented in Vantablack, aka the “world’s blackest black,” the sinister-looking pickup is still sure to turn heads.

Virtually every exterior component, including the grille, grille surround, badging, tow hooks, exhaust, headlamps, bumpers, door handles, side-view mirrors, 22-inch rims, tonneau cover and hood are coated in black paint and accents.

The colorway can be applied to both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations that run either the 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel, 5.7-liter HEMI V8, or 3.6-liter V6 power plants.

A second “Heavy Duty Night Edition,” available on the 2500 and 3500 pickups, was also unveiled with a monochromatic silver design enhanced by a black grille and body-colored grille surround, black badging and black 20-inch wheels.

Would-be owners can get it on the 4×2 and 4×4 crew cabs and mega cabs in Big Horn or Laramie trims with a choice of a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 or 6.7-liter Cummins in-line 6.

The 2020 Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition starts at $37,995. The Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition is considerably more costly, and thereby more exclusive, with a base price of $53,690.
