Last month we reported that Jerry Seinfeld is planning to jettison a trio of his highly-prized Porsches at Gooding & Company’s Amelia Island Auction on March 11th in Florida. Now thanks to all the favorable press, no doubt – and the likelihood that just those three cars will bring in over $10 million – he has now added 15 more cars to Gooding’s roster, including 13 rare Porsches and a couple of vintage Volkswagens for good measure.
“I’ve never bought a car as an investment,” Seinfeld said somewhat disingenuously at the time of the original announcement. “I don’t really even think of myself as a collector. I just love cars. And I still love these cars. But it’s time to send some of them back into the world, for someone else to enjoy, as I have.”
Even with these 18 cars getting cleared out of his custom-built underground garage in Manhattan, we imagine he’s he’s holding on to a few of the best ones for a rainy day, so to speak.
Here’s the complete list of the Seinfeld cars set to go under the hammer in Amelia Island. Basically, it’s one hell of a Porsche history lesson:
