In honor of Shelby American’s 60th anniversary, American automotive legend Carroll Shelby’s namesake company announced a limited-edition, souped-up version of what’s already Ford’s most potent ‘Stang.

The King of the Road package was first introduced in 1968 and revived only one other time from 2008 to 2009.

While the last Shelby GT500KR produced 540 horsepower, Car and Driver reports that this one’s upgraded 5.2-liter V8—aspirated by a 3.8-liter supercharger—will crank out 900-plus horsepower on 93-octane fuel.

The nutso performance is accompanied by a carbon-fiber hood, front splitter and rear diffuser, as well as grippy tires wrapped around forged aluminum wheels.

The MagneRide suspension has been recalibrated for sportiness, while Shelby installed its own adjustable springs and Ford Performance sway bars.

Priced at $127,895, only 180 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KRs will be produced from 2020-2022—60 for each model year.

Look out for the vehicle’s unveiling at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event in January.
