The Hemi-Powered ‘Sublime Sport’ Ram 1500 Pickup Will Make Competitors Green With Envy
This thing moves.
Get used to seeing smoke pouring from the tortured tires of Hemi-powered Chrysler products like this 2017 Ram 1500 pickup, as Chrysler rolls out new extreme performance products this week like the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and the Dodge Challenger Demon.
Time was when Chrysler used extreme colors with silly names to prop up a fading product line, but these days the Sublime Sport’s retina-searing hue is just icing on the Hemi-power cake.
Meanwhile, the Ram Rebel Blue Streak isn’t a reference to off-color language, but a nod to a new shade available for Ram’s muscular off-road-ready 4×4 edition.
Pricing for a Ram 1500 Sublime Sport Crew Cab V8 like the one shown starts at $45,740, plus $1,395 destination, with trucks rolling off their transporters at dealers next month.
The package is available with most Ram configurations and includes a sport performance hood, black 22-inch wheels, black Ram’s head grille badge, black tailgate badge and black body-side badges.
You won’t forget that you picked the Sublime shade when you’re in the cab either, as interior treatments for the Sublime Sport include lime green accent stitching throughout the cabin, accent-color Ram’s head embroidery on the headrests and sport mesh seat inserts.
The Rebel Blue Streak includes a black-decaled performance hood, black wheels, black grille, black brush guard and black badging. If you need still more black with your blue, optional two-tone paint with black lower paint also is available.
The Blue Streak paint is a no-cost option for all Ram Rebel configurations, so it starts at $45,095, plus $1,395 destination, like other Rebels. Like the Sublime Sport, the Rebel Blue Streak will be available in May.
