Zagato’s New Monstro Is Heartbreakingly Beautiful
The heartbreak is especially acute, because all have been spoken for.
At this summer’s sure-to-be-deluxe Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, Italian design house Zagato will be celebrating Maserati’s hundredth birthday in spectacular fashion: with the unveiling of this incredibly sleek coupe, The Monstro. Named after one of Maserati’s most famous racing cars—the 450 S Coupe Zagato “Monster”—the new Monstro is powered by the V8 from the GranTurismo, and should thus sound and speed as good as it looks. You want one, we want one, but as is often the case with limited edition coachbuilt cars, the entire run has been pre-sold and worse, no customers are in the US, so your chances of seeing one parked outside Taco Bell are just about zero.
