65-Year-Old NHL Legend Creeps Out Aly Raisman With On-Air Comment About Her Legs

Time to sit in the penalty box.

When Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman took the stage with hockey legend Marcel Dionne at Wednesday night’s NHL Awards, they were supposed to engage in some light banter, present an award and get off the stage.

Instead, they produced a viral moment that’s drawing more eyeballs to the NHL Awards than ever before. And it’s all because Dionne, a 65-year-old whose nickname was “Little Beaver” (heh, heh), couldn’t resist ad-libbing a comment about Raisman’s glorious gams.

Raisman: I’m on stage with one of the old greats, Marcel Dionne.

Dionne: Thank you, thank you. And I’m proud to be on stage with three-time Olympic gold medalist…Look At Those Legs!

By the sound of all the whistles in the room, he wasn’t the only one admiring Raisman. And by the look on her face after Dionne’s comment, she was none too pleased about it.

But she powered through it and finished the segment by presenting the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, named after a woman and given each year to the NHL player who displays the most “gentlemanly conduct” on the ice.
