Bill Murray Is Opening a CaddyShack Bar in Chicago, Which Is Nice
The comedy legend is launching a sports bar inspired by the greatest golf movie ever.
Bill Murray is bringing the magic of Caddyshack to the Chicagoland area. The comedy legend will team up with his five brothers to open a golf-themed sports bar in the northwest Chicago suburb of Rosemont sometime in the next couple years.
The 11,000-square-foot space will be the second Caddyshack bar the brothers have opened, with the first serving up drinks since 2001 in St. Augustine, Florida.
The original Caddyshack restaurant is designed to “feel like a country club gone awry” in a homage to what is undoubtably the greatest golf movie of all-time. It’s even got a giant gold ball crashing through its facade.

The new location will bring the Murrays home to Illinois, where they grew up just outside of Chicago in Wilmette. Three of the Murray brothers—Bill, Brian and Joel—also got their comedy starts at Chicago’s fame Second City.
You can expect the new Caddyshack location to have the same look and feel of the one down south, with movie memorabilia and references galore, including menus with a gopher on the cover.
The Chicago location will no doubt give Murray a chance to commemorate his beloved Cubbies, with whom he celebrates November’s World Series like he was on the team himself.
