Mark Wahlberg and Diddy Just Doubled Down on Their Massive Mayweather vs. McGregor Bet

Demi Lovato is also getting in on the action...

The biggest sporting event of the year deserves a big-time star to sing the National Anthem and on Tuesday, Mayweather vs. McGregor got just that. Demi Lovato has signed on to belt out the “Star Spangled Banner” before the fight.

This will be Lovato’s first time singing at a boxing match, but she’s got a long history of running in MMA circles. The 25-year-old pop star previously dated the UFC’s Luke Rockhold and Bellator’s Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos. She’s even flirted with the idea of getting into the cage herself.

In other news about “The Money Fight,” two of the superstars who will be ringside on Saturday just made a massive bet on the outcome. Sean “Diddy” Combs and Mark Wahlberg are putting $100,000 on the fight, with Diddy taking Mayweather and Wahlberg taking McGregor. (Really Mark?)

These two deep-pocketed fight fans did something similar in 2015, when they “bet” $100,000 on Mayweather’s fight with Manny Pacquiao. Now, as Wahlberg says in the video below, they’re going double or nothing.

You’d be excused for having doubts about this “bet” being real. Mark Wahlberg may be loyal to his Irish roots–he did, after all play Mickey Ward in The Fighter–but he’s not dumb enough to risk 100 grand on McGregor’s futile chances.

And if he were, he’d be smart enough to take that money to the sports book, where a McGregor win would pay him nearly $400,000 and then bankrupt all of Las Vegas.
