Khabib says UFC fighters should boycott Covington because of his trash talk, even as fans slam Masvidal for his alleged sneak attack outside the Octagon.

Undefeated MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov is weighing in on the ongoing Colby Covington vs. Jorge Masvidal beef.

On Wednesday, March 23, Masvidal was arrested for allegedly attacking Covington outside a Miami Beach steakhouse because he was still angry that his arch-rival brought up Masvidal’s kids during the bitter lead-up to their recent UFC 272 main event fight, which Covington won via a dominant five-round decision.

TMZ has more details on the alleged assault:

Masvidal has been accused of punching Covington twice as his UFC rival was leaving popular restaurant Papi Steak on Monday night.

In police documents, cops say Covington told them Masvidal hit him in the mouth and the eye — causing him to fracture a tooth. Cops also say Covington suffered an abrasion on his wrist and a damaged watch.

In video obtained shortly after the alleged incident, Covington can be heard appearing to describe the attack, saying, “He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran …”

Nurmagomedov, who was famously involved a bitter beef with Conor McGregor before he retired from UFC and started his own Eagle FC promotion, is now calling on UFC fighters to boycott Covington for mentioning Masvidal’s family before their fight, points out BroBible.

Unsurprisingly, Masvidal’s manager Malki Kawa chimed in and agreed with Khabib’s tweet.

Masvidal is currently out on $15,000 bond after being charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief following the alleged assault, which many MMA fans have criticized as a sneak attack after Masvidal failed to hurt Covington during their relatively lackluster five-round UFC fight. The typically outspoken (and obnoxious) Covington has been uncharacteristically quiet since the incident outside Papi Steak, but don’t be surprised if he weighs in on social media soon.
