NASCAR‘s getting a little edgier in 2017. After years with Sprint as the sponsor of its primary racing series, NASCAR has handed the naming rights over to Monster Energy in 2017. In addition to slapping its name on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, the beverage megabrand is supplying some serious eye candy on the track.
They’re called the Monster Energy girls and they made their debut in Daytona over the weekend. Even though they were more covered up than your average NFL cheerleader, the girls were not well received by some NASCAR fans who voiced their complaints on Twitter.

The Monster victory lane girls look like hookers. What's up with that @NASCAR

As many have pointed out, the Monster Energy girls actually look like they’re ready for church compared to some of the ladies who have lined pit lane in years past.
For the special few who were disturbed by the Victory Lane attire of the Monster Energy girls today, I offer a history lesson. #NothingNew pic.twitter.com/jxhKy4hYOI

The truth is, nothing happens in 2017 without creating some over-heated outrage online. It’s fun to laugh at, but it’s hardly worth responding to. Which is why we won’t launch into a screed about the NASCAR morality police and will instead enjoy some more photos of the Monster Energy girls.
