Find out how Nicki Minaj fared in MaximBet’s $1,000,000 NFL Week 5 contest.
We’re back with another breakdown of Nicki Minaj’s results in Nicki’s Picks, MaximBet’s weekly free-to-play $1,000,000 NFL contest*. Nicki placed eight last week by correctly answering 11 of the 24 questions about NFL Week 5.
What Did Nicki Know?
Week 5 saw some surprising performances and some not so surprising wins. Although Nicki didn’t fare as well this week as last, she still cracked the top ten once again with her football insights. Here are a couple she got right, and why she may have made these picks.
New York Giants Vs. Green Bay Packers
Will The Packers Win By 9 Points Or More?
Kind of a no-brainer. As has been mentioned before, Nicki is a Giants fan and knows that her team is currently considered one of the best in the league. So, she astutely predicted that the Packers wouldn’t win, let alone by 9 points.
Chicago Bears Vs. Minnesota Vikings
How Many Receiving Yards Will Justin Jefferson Get?
Nicki correctly predicted that Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson would get more than 87.5 receiving yards. Although Jefferson hasn’t been getting the touchdowns, Nicki may have known that he’s a WR to watch who’s been getting plenty of yards just the same. He was key in Sunday’s victory over the Bears, catching a career-high 12 passes for 154 yards.
What Did Nicki Get Wrong?
Not all of Nicki’s predictions can be as hot as her latest Likkle Miss remix. Football is a fickle game, and sometimes last-minute injuries, bad coaching decisions or myriad other factors can render rock-solid picks wrong. Here are a couple Nicki didn’t see coming.
Miami Dolphins Vs. New York Jets
What Will Be Tyreek Hill’s Longest Reception?
Tyreek Hill didn’t pull in a reception of 26.5 yards or more, but it was a solid pick. In receiving yards, he’s currently ranked third in the NFL and third-most in Dolphins’ history. Despite leading the Dolphins in receiving yards for the fourth time this season against the Jets, he never got that long ball.
Dallas Cowboys Vs. LA Rams
How Many Receptions Will Cooper Kupp Make?
Here’s another example of a pick most would have made but that didn’t pan out. Kupp is the 2021 triple crown winner and Super Bowl LVI MVP. He’s got a reputation as one of the most exciting wide receivers in the NFL. So, it makes sense Nicki would have predicted Kupp would make more than 8.5 receptions in the game. He played well, with over 120 yards and one touchdown…but only made seven receptions.
