Paige Spiranac’s 2023 Sports Championship Predictions Video Is Going Viral
The golf influencer and Maxim cover star reveals her picks for the Super Bowl, the World Series, the NBA, hockey and tennis for 2023.
Paige Spiranac uncorked a series of professional and collegiate championship picks in one of her first viral posts of the new year.
Posted on her personal Twitter and her PointsBet sportsbook sponsor’s Instagram feeds, the Maxim Hot 100 leader predicted titlists across the biggest events in football, tennis, basketball, hockey, baseball and golf.
Spiranac picked the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl LVII, but fumbled her pick of TCU to upset Georgia in the College Football Playoff national championship game (the Bulldogs romped to a 65-7 victory).
“The [Philadelphia] Eagles, they’re going to win the Super Bowl,” she said in the clip. “And, you know what, I like a little TCU [Horned Frogs] upset for the National Championship.”
Next, she turned her attention on Grand Slam tennis and the NBA while offering a little conjecture on an aging Lebron James’ future.
“[Rafael] Nadal is going to win a major and then retire this year and Coco Gauff is going to get her first major title. The Brooklyn Nets are going to win the NBA Championship and LeBron [James] is going to be traded.”
Spiranac then made her perhaps her most informed picks as a pro golfer-turned-top golf influencer and offered her early Stanley Cup frontrunner.
“Rory McIlroy is going to win The Masters and we will also see a LIV player with a major title. [Boston] Bruins to win the Stanley Cup.”
Her World Series and NCAA March Madness winners rounded out the clip, thought it’s worth noting that Spiranac is self-proclaimed “No. 1 Purdue” fan.
“The [New York] Yankees, they’re going to win the World Series. Purdue [Boilermakers] men’s basketball to win the national championship, that’s all I’ve got for this year.”
As the Daily Star points out, Spiranac seems to have a knack for nailing at least golf predictions—she correctly backed 2022 U.S. Open winner Matthew Fitzpatrick to claim his first major, which was a something of a longshot proposition at the time.
While her “big and bold” 2023 sports predictions are going viral, it’s an earlier tweet that’s garnered the most attention by metrics.
Spiranac responded to a somewhat dubious “fact” reading, “A German study concludes that staring at women’s breasts for 10 minutes a day is better for your health than going to the gym.”
As well as notching 2.2 million views, over 600 comments and over 300 retweets, the “follow me and you’ll hit your 2023 health goals” reply is perfectly on-brand.
