There’s a Petition to Replace Lady Gaga With Jay-Z and Other Rappers at the Super Bowl Halftime Show

Odds are, most of the people amped about watching the Super Bowl this weekend were not so amped when Lady Gaga was announced as the halftime performer. But that’s how it’s supposed to be. If you care about the game, the halftime show is not for you.

One group of hip-hop fans is trying to change that. In recent days a petition to replace Gaga as the halftime performer has gained more than 50,000 signatures. The hope of its signatories is to boot Gaga in favor of a ensemble of performers paying tribute to the rich hip-hop tradition of Atlanta, home of one of the Super Bowl teams, and Houston, where the game will be played. New England somehow got lost in this (no love for House of Pain?).

Here’s who the petitioners would like to see at halftime:

Halftime should be Migos killing Bad and Boujee, Future kills em with March Madness, then Outkast comes out and does an AQUEMINI sampler and then they end it with BUN B and JAY Z DOING BIG PIMPIN!!!! If you’re gonna put on a show for billions THIS IS THE ONLY SHOW

Sounds fun. And insanely unrealistic. For starters, Jay-Z is a busy man who cannot be booked with a week’s notice. Outkast would never play a halftime show and not hit all the moms and aunts watching with “Hey Ya.” And no matter how dumb you think Roger Goodell is, even he is smart enough to know that you don’t make an enemy of Lady Gaga.
