With everyone so amped to break in their new outerwear come fall, you’ve got plenty of license to take a few style gambles.

A good place to start is the ever-popular bomber jacket. A number of fashion houses, from buzzy L.A.-based brand Fear of God to fast-fashion staples Zara and Alpha Industries, are riffing off the sporty jacket style. Originally worn by military pilots, the “flight jacket” was later co-opted by British mods, ’60s skinheads, and tastemakers ranging from Steve McQueen to Kanye West.

Decades later, it still remains a classic. Fear of God added a collar to its newest high-priced variation, while Topman went all out with ornate World War II souvenir-inspired embroidery.

Below, browse some of our favorites for fall:

1. The Harrington Bomber – Fear of God – $1,095
