All Day I Dream About Sneakers

The latest from Raf Simons’ continuing collaboration with Adidas is an awesome mash of sport and street.

We love collaborations, especially when each party brings its top talent to the table. Thankfully, the latest from Belgian designer Raf Simons and American sportswear powerhouse Adidas is exactly that type of fruitful union. To the mix, Adidas brought the iconic shape of its “Stan Smith” tennis shoes and it’s time-tested athletic insoles; Raf dyed all components—soles to laces—brick red, and replaced Adidas’ famous tri-stripe with an “R” perforation pattern though the mid-foot leather. The result is an elevated tennis shoe with its sights on high-style but its eyes (eyelets?) squarely on the ball. Especially if you’ve fallen into the urbanite’s failsafe, near-greyscale wardrobe, there’s nothing wrong—and a lot right—with bright, high-impact sneaks. [$450; mrporter.com]
