Some sources of inspiration are so rugged and functional, it makes perfect sense that one would influence the other. Take an iconic SUV like the Land Rover Defender: It’s subtly stylish, sure, but it’s also engineered for performance and built to take on the toughest terrain.

It’s the key driving force behind the second Land Rover x Bamford watch collaboration, the Bamford x Land Rover LR002 Limited Edition, with a classic field watch design and military inspiration in spades.

Limited to only 100 units and available exclusively at Hodinkee, the watch is powered by a precise, no-frills Selita SW-2001B movement and boasts a 41-hour power reserve, all the better to “keep this watch reliable ticking away,” Hodinkee said.

Bamford outfitted the timepiece in a black titanium, DLC-coated case, and replaced typical dial numerals with white lume-coated dots and dashes for an eye-catching design that stands out like few other watches.

The case back also boasts collaborative branding in an understated nod to the ongoing partnership, with a tried-and-true 40mm case diameter that should rest nicely on most wrists.

The NATO-style strap is finished off with another collaborative touch, calling out the specs on this handsome, rugged field watch. Again, it bears repeating that only 100 units are available, so this is a rare watch worth scoring for under $2K ($1,700 at Hodinkee, to be precise).
