Vans Honors David Bowie with Stylish Sneaker Collection
Four new kicks pay tribute to the rock icon.
In honor of the late, great David Bowie, Vans is dropping a cool collection of Bowie-inspired sneakers that pay homage to classic Bowie albums Aladdin Sane, Space Oddity, and Hunky Dory, as well as his most famous persona, Ziggy Stardust.
The collection includes glammed-out versions of four popular Vans silhouettes: Slip-On 47 V DX, Era, Old Skool, and Sk8-Hi.
The Old Skool model is an ode to 1973’s Aladdin Sane with a white upper that has Bowie’s iconic red and blue lightning bolt print on the sides.
When it comes to the Sk8-Hi, the embroidered lightning on the side panel is a nod to Bowie’s alter ego Ziggy Stardust.
The model also has a black suede upper and black and white checkered side panels.
The Era model pays homage to 1971’s Space Oddity, with the same blue and green upper that’s on the album cover.
The black outsole has “Space” emblazoned on it in bright blue.
The Slip-On 47 V DX is all about the album Hunky Dory and has a yellow suede and gray, black, and white faux fur checkered upper.
To truly celebrate the album, “Hunky Dory” is printed on the rubber midsole.
While the official release date is still under wraps, the collection is rumored to drop April 5th with prices that range between $65 and $80.
The David Bowie collection comes after Vans honored the 50th anniversary of Led Zepplin’s first album with a line of sneakers and apparel last month.
Rock on.
