Drake Just Unveiled His New ‘Views’-Inspired Air Jordans
Good luck getting a pair of these.
Adidas may have Kanye and Pharrell on the payroll, but Drake is about to kick his wildly successful collaboration with Nike into the stratosphere with his OVO x Air Jordans. The sought-after J’s, which Drake briefly teased on Instagram before removing the photos, pay tribute to his massive new album Views, which debuted at Number 1 on Billboard’s Hot 200 list and boasts a record-setting 20 songs on the Hot 100.
The new kicks are basically customized Air Jordan 6 Lows that the rapper nicknamed the “Hot 100s.” The upper is almost entirely white with the exception of a crimson Jumpman logo on the tongue, while word “Views” shows through the clear outsole with the letters dotted with eyes.
Through his record label, October’s Very Own (OVO), Drake has collaborated on other retro and near-impossible to get Jordans in the past. His choice of the Air Jordan 6 could be a reference to Drake’s self-proclaimed status as the “6 God”, a nod to his hometown of Toronto, which has the number in both of its area codes (416 and 647).
Want a pair? Of course you do. Nike has not said when, or if, they will ever be available to the public. Our advice: keep a sharp eye on eBay.
