Drake’s Meteorite Rolex From DJ Khaled’s ‘Staying Alive’ Video Is For Sale
Champagne Papi sported one of just two “off-the-books” Rolex Sky Dwellers crafted with white gold.
This ultra-rare Rolex Sky Dweller comes with some serious star power. Drake fans may recognize it from DJ Khaled’s new music video for “Staying Alive,” which also features the Canadian rap star alongside Lil Baby.
Citing a now-removed Hypebeast article, Robb Report explains that the model is an “off-the-books” edition of the Rolex Sky Dweller, being one of only two in the series crafted with a white gold case.
Drake’s version, which shines as an excessively opulent accessory to his medical scrubs costume, features diamonds all over the case, a meteorite dial, Baguette-cut diamond indices, and Rolex’s Oysterflex rubber strap in black.
The seller is Diamond Watches London (DWL). According to unconfirmed reports, DWL founder Danny Shahid acquired the Rollie from a contact who deals directly with Drake. Apparently, “Champagne Papi” owned it for just a few weeks before replacing it with a Sky Dweller set on a white gold bracelet.
Robb Report adds that it displays two time zones and likely runs Rolex’s in-house calibre 9001 automatic movement with a 72-hour power reserve, which debuted on the 2012 Sky Dweller. DWL set the price at $468,000.
It seems that DJ Khaled prefers his featured artists to be iced out in upscale timepieces. The hip-hop producer’s “Big Time” music video also recently made the rounds among Audemars Piguet fans, who noted the appearances of three different Royal Oak variants on the wrists of Khaled, Future and Lil Baby.
