GREATS, the Brooklyn-based footwear company best known for its sleek luxury sneakers, is stepping into the urban hiker category with the new Dante boots.
The “Raw Blanco”-colored kicks are made from naked, natural leather sourced from the Alcanena region of Portugal in GREATS’ sustainably-focused factory, which “minimizes water usage, plastic materials, and general waste and is powered using solar panels.”
Adding to the Dante’s eco-conscious credentials, the tanning process of the boots’ natural leather uses 20 percent less water than other common processes. The Dante also features an extra sidewall to protect against the elements and an outsole designed for increased traction and durability.
If you can keep these handsome, retro-styled hikers clean, the off-white color and thick red laces serve as a stylishly rugged alternative to all those white low-top sneakers so many of us start rocking in the spring.
The GREATS Dante are available beginning Wednesday, Feb. 26 for $250 at greats.com.
