IWC Races Into Miami Grand Prix With Colorful Pilot’s Chronograph
Just in time for Maxim’s Miami Race Weekend Party on Friday, May 5.
The high-octane world of Formula One racing requires many things—from the right luxury travel gear to the right watch, because every second counts in the drive to survive.
IWC knows a thing or two about precision, naturally. And the luxury watchmaker is updating its 41mm Pilot’s Chronograph in time for a full-throttle Miami Grand Prix.
And speaking of Formula One, Maxim is hosting the hottest party of F1’s first American race weekend of the year at SLS South Beach, featuring a performance by DJ Ruckus. Get tickets here for Maxim’s Miami Race Weekend party on Friday, May 5.
As for the speedy watch, it features a special nod to Miami by way of a vibrant Miami Pink strap.
It doesn’t hurt that the watch will be worn by Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One teammates and crew members throughout the weekend, and it marks the second watch from IWC’s partnership with Mercedes-AMG Petronas.
In this case (pun intended), the new edition is even more visible on the wrist than last year’s model, thanks to the vivid strap, plus a black dial accented by green numerals, hands and chronograph dials.
Hamilton’s gloves and shoes during race weekend will also feature that same shade of Miami Pink, and the case itself also nods to auto racing — it’s made from Grade 5 titanium, widely used across the industry.
For good measure, the watch also comes with a green strap that matches the eye-popping green numerals on the dial itself.
The hardware within is every bit as precise as Formula 1 standards might require, boasting a 242-part IWC-manufactured 69385-calibre movement.
With specs like that, it’s no wonder that the watch retails for $8,350 online at IWC and at the watchmaker’s Miami boutique (for a limited time, of course). If you want the speed and style of an F1-approved watch, race through to get yours now.
