Kanye West Claims He Sold $1 Million Worth of Merchandise in Two Days

Kanye West is a polarizing figure. From announcing presidential runs during awards shows to trolling the world into believing he had a new Rolling Stone cover, nothing is beyond the grasp of Kanye West. Except for a successful bid as a fashion designer.

Though he’s been at it for years, West’s attempts at being a standalone apparel designer has been constantly panned by major critics. While the sales of his one-off collaborations and sneakers are fine, his apparel doesn’t do so well due to lack of quality and unattainable price points. According to Ye though, his latest venture has fared a hell of a lot better.

On Friday, he launched a two-day pop-up shop in New York City hocking merchandise from his latest New York Fashion Week event in February. Centered around his album The Life of Pablo, the artist hoped to fetch $35 for screen-printed t-shirts, $95 for hoodies and $350 for bomber jackets. The shop opened to  lines down the block, with some people camping out overnight for a chance to score those goods.

Apparently, it was so successful Ye sold a whopping $1 million worth of merchandise. That’s a hell of a figure with little to substantiate it except West’s Twitter account. If accurate though, maybe this is the new direction he should go in.

If you’re hoping to get a piece of the action, try your luck on eBay where some of the pieces are going for up to six times their original price. As we’ve always said: the obsessive Yeezy fan gets the deal.
