Kanye West Is Doing Another Fashion Week Show And People Are Pissed

Yeezy Season 2 is on its way!

It’s safe to say that Kanye West is a polarizing figure. He’s a bit brash, has outsized aspirations and never has been one to deny his ego. That said, the rapper is talented — even outside the recording studio.

In February, Yeezy dropped a nude, black and green elevated streetwear collaboration with adidas in one of the most talked about presentations of the season.  At that time, no one knew whether the project was a one-off or only the beginning of a long-term effort.. This weekend, both wifey Kim Kardashian and Yeezy himself took to social media to announce that a second drop was on the way.

While some fans are likely already putting in for sick days at work, not everyone is excited about the announcement that West will show during New York Fashion Week. Kanye’s announced time slot already has two designers, Anne Bowen and Naeem Khan, occupying it.  With the musician’s own star power as well as his ability to bring in high wattage celebrities to sit front row, Bowen has already started to reschedule her show in a move that she’s said is costing her a lot of money

“Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this,” Bowen told WWD. “It’s like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show, and should not be stepped on like this.” Khan’s team stated that their show would go on as planned.

For those attending the show, in addition to seeing the heels Kim wore to the Givenchy show, you might can expect to either see a light grey color way of the already released Yeezy 350 Boosts. If the pieces are priced anything like Season 1 though, expect to pay upwards of $200 for t-shirts, $500 for sweat pants and $2,100 for jackets.
