Louis Vuitton Teamed Up With Architect Frank Gehry For An Exquisite New Watch
Clocking in at $935,000.
The bold, avant-garde look and feel of Frank Gehry buildings takes on a whole new meaning — this time, in the form of a sleek new watch designed in collaboration with famed fashion house Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton is no stranger to unexpected partnerships (take the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1, for instance), nor is it a stranger to innovative timepiece design.
And the exquisitely designed Tambour Moon Flying Tourbillon Poinçon De Genève Sapphire Frank Gehry is a bit of both (to say the very least). The Tambour also happens to be the favored watch of House Ambassador and actor Bradley Cooper, and the Gehry addition is an extraordinary reinvention.
The Louis Vuitton Tambour is striking in every sense of the word, drawing its distinctive look from the Gehry-designed Louis Vuitton Seoul Maison, as well as the Fondation Vuitton Building in Paris (also designed by Gehry).
The timepiece boasts a seriously cool 43.8mm translucent case, all the better to view its precise inner workings.
Those inner workings include the in-house mechanical, manual winding LFTMM05.01 movement, with a impossibly intricate monogram flower tourbillon cage and a skeleton flying tourbillon.
Accordingly, the watch is about as rare as it gets: Just five editions are available, and at a lofty price tag of $935,000.
