These New NikeCourt Sneakers Channel Tennis Legend Andre Agassi
The retro-inspired tennis kicks are an absolute Grand Slam.
In 1990, tennis legend Andre Agassi made the Nike Air Tech Challenge II a sensation when he debuted his signature Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette. NikeCourt’s new Tech Challenge 20 pays tribute to the eight-time Grand Slam champ’s iconic kicks with updated versions of the same vibrant red, black and white graphics.
A modified herringbone pattern gives the new sneaker excellent traction. Nike’s long-running Max Air unit cushions the heel to provide a smooth heel-to-toe transition—a must-have ability for anyone who wants to smash serve returns and rush the net like Agassi.
The medial side of the Air unit is hidden to provide durability during slides on hard, clay and grass courts, while the ankle support is augmented by an asymmetrical collar. And as with the original Air Tech Challenge II, the classic “Nike Air” logo appears on the heel.
The NikeCourt Tech Challenge 20 will be available online and through select retailers beginning February 29, but Nike Members can cop a pair three days earlier on February 26. Until then, see more images below:
