Omega has been around for 170-plus years, predating most of the luxury brands we know today, and one reason may be the venerable watchmaker is always willing to apply its legendary quality standards to new ideas. The latest: the Seamaster Aqua Terra Ultra Light.

Omega

Omega designed the Ultra Light especially for use by sportsmen and women. Working with pro golfer and brand ambassador Rory McIlroy, the brand developed a new high-end line of timepieces that combine classic Omega elegance and innovative new features that make these ideal for wearing during competitions.

The chief new wrinkle is that the Ultra Light’s case, caseback, and crown are made of Gamma Titanium. It’s an unusual metal typically used in airplane construction. It’s both tough and light and already in use by golfers on the greens at Omega Masters training in Montana.

With a Milanese-style fabric strap, this gorgeous watch comes in three colorways, red, blue, and green, and clocks in at just 55 grams. Packed inside is Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8928 Ti movement, also made of titanium.

It’s manually wound but has a 72-hour power reserve in addition to excellent magnetic resistance.

The Omega Aqua Terra Ultra Light will sell for $48,600.00 in Omega retail stores everywhere and on omegawatches.com. It will officially be available in the winter of 2020.
