In early 2019, Omega announced that it was bringing back its Calibre 321 mechanism. On July 20, the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing, the iconic Swiss watchmaker released the new Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Platinum—the first new model powered by the movement in over 60 years.

Omega first used that special movement in 1957. Astronauts later wore Calibre 321 Speedmasters on spacewalks and Neil Armstrong was wearing one when the U.S. landed on the Moon.

More intriguing than resurrecting Calibre 321: The subdials on this Speedmaster have been made with pieces of meteorites that originated from the Moon. You’ll be wearing a true piece of space travel history on your wrist.

Unfortunately, Omega enthusiasts will have to wait for their chance at this celebration of space history—the price isn’t set yet, and the Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Platinum won’t be available till the winter of 2019-2020.
