What it is: Palladium Monochrome boots, $60

Why we like it: By looking at these colorful, contemporary boots from Palladium, it might be hard to believe that the brand has been around since 1920, when it used to make vulcanized rubber tires out of its canvas for airplanes. But after World War II when aircraft manufacturing halted, the brand switched to producing footwear, notably the Pampa boot that was used by the French Foreign Legion. Now a brand associated more with hitting the club or the streets than for taking marching orders, Palladium’s eye-catching spring boots will brighten your day – or at least your feet.
