Porsche Design, the fashion, accessory and electronics arm of the luxury automaker, is celebrating 70 years of some of the finest cars known to man.

It has debuted a new limited-edition watch, the 1919 Datetimer 70Y Sports Car, that recalls the design of the 356, the predecessor of the Porsche 911.

It’s an automatic movement housed in a matte black titanium timepiece with grey accents and a sapphire crystal case.

You will find remnants of that bygone car model in its 48mm titanium case with titanium carbide coating, the dial face with the characteristic rings of the 356’s rev counter, and leather straps in the same material as the 356’s seats.

On the back dial is the silhouette of the 356 over the inscription “1948,” the founding year of Porsche. There is also a “70 years” logo on the caseback to honor the anniversary.

Porsche Design has capped manufacturing of the 1919 Datetimer 70Y Sports Car Watch to just 1948 pieces, a nod to the birth of the 356.
