When worlds collide — as in, when the sleek, speedy racing world meets the design world of some of the most iconic shades on the market — the results are bound to be impressive. It’s the big idea behind the Ray-Ban Wayfarer‘s impressive F1-themed update to celebrate 75 years of Ferrari.

The new Ray-Ban Wayfarer Carbon Fiber for Scuderia Ferrari marks the second collaboration this year between F1’s winningeset team and the lauded eyewear brand, with plenty of sharp, stylish bells and whistles to soup up the classic silhouette.

The shades, Ray-Ban notes, are “inspired by the fast-paced design and materials of the F1 circuit,” and it appears they’ve done a stunning job translating that inspiration down into a new essential for the racing fan’s everyday carry.

In a fitting nod to the speedy partnership, Ray-Ban tapped racers Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc (who offered design input on the first collaborative pair released this past summer) to model the new shades.

Made from light, fast carbon fiber, the updated Ray-Ban Wayfarer is both modern and yet timeless, with a price tag befitting a bold look: Enthusiasts and Ray-Ban fans can score a pair for $490.

The sunglasses harness the best of both companies, with key touch points — like rubber-grip nosepads and elliptical rivets — all done up in Ferrari’s eye-catching “giallo Modena” colorway.

Ferrari’s racing shield appears on the temple plaque and on the lenses of the carbon fiber sunglasses, too.

The sunglasses arrive in time for Ferrari’s planned 75th anniversary celebrations at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, where there’s no doubt plenty of fanfare will ring in the occasion — along with plenty of pairs of Ray-Ban shades, of course.
