London’s Bamford Watch Department has made a name for itself as the world’s top Rolex customizer for those who want something a little more unique than what’s in the jewelry shop window.
Their latest design is a homage to the highly collectible military 5517 Submariners, aka MilSubs, made specially for the British military in the 1960s.
The two new Bamford Heritage Series watches, priced at about $16,000 apiece, are based on the Rolex Submariner 6538 Non Date, one of the brand’s all-time classics.
Both feature a light gray Military Grade Titanium Coating (MGTC) with a heritage dial and gilt hands with ivory lume. They also have black bezel, green-glowing tridots and removed crown guards for a vintage look.
One model features gold detailing for a more luxe look, and both are available with either matching MGTC coated steel bracelets or more authentic military-style NATO nylon straps.
The watches were inspired by rare vintage pieces in company founder George Bamford’s personal watch collection.
Which sure as hell doesn’t include any Swatches….
