Looking for a Clean New Pair of Dr. Martens? Supreme Has You Covered
Oxblood? We can work with that.
I never got a pair of Dr. Martens when I was younger. Coming from a lower class background, one new dress shoe and one new sneaker per year sort of families rarely added boots to their shopping rotation, but I always wanted a pair. Thick solid soles, that yellow stitching — I remember seeing them around town every once in a while and I’m a 90s kid, a decade after the style’s heyday in the 70s and 80s!
But come Thursday, the brand’s kicks will be re-upped in a collaboration with New York-based retailer Supreme, the shop best known for its limited releases and vibrant collaborations. And from the looks of it, these aren’t the Dr. Martens of my childhood — but I want them.
Predictably , the collaboration features smooth leather. With both a 4-Eye shoe and a 6-eye boot in oxblood, black and baby blue, it’s a well edited lot. The shoe’s comfort — which is where Martens has always set themselves a part as the soles are orthopedic — has not been compromised.
If these are up your alley, keep an eye out as they drop online Thursday morning September 3rd. If they are like other Supreme drops, expect them to be up for exactly three minutes before selling out.
