Tag Heuer Updates Classic ‘60s-Era Carrera With Two New Watches
The timepieces celebrate six decades of the original model.

Time races quickly ever forward, but the legacy of certain luxury timepieces is never far behind in the rearview mirror, as is the case with six decades of the oft-celebrated Tag Heuer Carrera. On the heels of Watches and Wonders 2023 and an illustrious 2023 LVMH Watch Week, two revamped-yet-familiar takes are joining the Tag Heuer Carrera line.

The Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph, available in sleek Black and striking Blue, is highlighted by its domed sapphire crystal, also known as a “glassbox,” that covers the entire Tricompax layout.
That means the sapphire crystal covers the tachymeter as well, in a nod to both 1960s Tag Heuer Carrera watches, as well as streamlined but effective, racing-focused performance (the original use case for the Carrera, after all).

Both watches clock in at a subtle 39mm, and both feature a sapphire caseback for easy viewing of the Calibre TH20-00 movement housed within (another next-gen Tag Heuer advancement boasting a whopping 80-hour power reserve.

Each new model of the Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph is outfitted with a pebbled racing strap to complete Tag’s signature streamlined design, with each retailing for $6,450.
The sleek new sapphire-domed chronograph isn’t the only innovation Tag Heuer dreamed up this spring.

The Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon is about as technical as the Carrera line gets, outfitted with both chronograph functionality and Tag Heuer’s Calibre TH20-09 automatic COSC in-house tourbillon movement.
The tourbillon is positioned as 6-o’clock in an ingenious design touch, and Tag Heuer declares this $24,050 watch “fit for the track.”

Whichever model you choose, whether you opt for sharp black or eye-catching blue, for a more traditional chronograph or a technical tourbillon, the newest Tag Heuer Carrera models carry on a hallowed legacy.
