Some timepieces are shrouded in mystery and forgotten history, and others are a little more powerful and easily recognizable, especially rugged-meets-refined Bell & Ross watches. The company is nothing if not design-savvy, and its watches are built to be used for days on end, so the new BR 03-94 Blacktrack fits the bill quite nicely in terms of utility.
In fact, it’s a design showcase in and of itself, part of a limited-edition design showcase with Luxembourg’s BLACKTRACK, one that seamlessly bridges the world of high-end motorcycles and fine watchmaking.
Working with BLACKTRACK designer Sacha Lakic, the custom motorcycle shop and the famed tool watchmaker have debuted both a handsome new watch and a one-of-a-kind motorcycle that takes cues from precision watchmaking and stealth aircraft in equal measure.
The watch hits the nail on the head in terms of specs, using the signature square case design of Bell & Ross to deliver an undeniably cool 42mm matte black ceramic timepiece.
The dual chronograph rests handsomely on a black calfskin leather strap inspired by the clean lines of lightning-fast motorcycles.
Accordingly, the watchmaker notes that “the focus on performance and reliability is at the center of this collaboration,” nodding to the “fine engine” of the BR-CAL.301 self-winding mechanical movement, which boasts a 42-hour power reserve.
The cafe racer bike, of course, is no slouch either, boasting an exceptionally streamlined design and a big-bore V-Twin donor engine from Indian Motorcycles.
It’s the watch, though (of which there are just 500 units priced at $6,900) that should prove most covetable for collectors and moto enthusiasts alike.
Don’t get caught flat-footed if you hope to rev up your watch collection.
