Like clockwork and just in time for casually rugged holiday dressing, Todd Snyder and L.L. Bean have teamed up on the modern-meets-classic menswear collab.

Launching December 9th online at Todd Snyder (with a select few pieces up for grabs at L.L. Bean), the new Todd Snyder x L.L. Bean Heritage Plaid Collection is but another iteration of a very successful, very fitting partnership between the heritage outfitter and one of the country’s best menswear designers.

For the latest and greatest offering, Snyder unearthed a heritage pattern from L.L. Bean’s well-stocked archives — one used in a 1937 Maine hunting coat by the legendary brand.

It falls right in line with Snyder’s knack for taking throwback staples and freshening them up for today’s modern man with an air of downtown cool. That means you’ll also find a hunting coat in the new Todd Snyder x L.L. Bean Heritage Plaid Collection, but this time, it features a red-and-black Pendleton wool in a more modern fit, complete with snap closures and four exterior pockets.

A shawl sweater dials up the cool factor even further, emblazoned with the initials “LLB” atop the same rich red-and-black plaid pattern. You can (and should) top off more minimal outfits with a plaid wool cap, also crafted from the same winter and holiday-friendly material.

And for winter weekend getaways, snag a plaid wool blanket and expertly fashioned leather carrier for maximum retro appeal. Naturally, the latest version of the fruitful partnership also updates a pair of “Bean Boots” with an instantly recognizable mixed-media wool design.

For posterity, the rubber chain tread on those boots remains the very same as it’s been since 109 years ago. That’s an homage to the past we can wholeheartedly endorse.

No matter how much time you spend in the Northeast this season, these pieces are a rock-solid addition to your seasonal style rotation, with vintage detailing, well-executed craftsmanship and timeless appeal in spades.
