Luxurious Breitling watches are built for a bit of everything: Land, sea and air. And now, the open road, thanks to a picture-perfect pairing with legendary motorcycle producer Triumph.

Triumph x Breitling brings the two famously design-obsessed companies together in as distinctive a way as possible, centered first and foremost around a new, limited-edition Speed Triple 1200 RR.

Breitling detailing and inspiration dots the bike, which even comes with a limited-edition number and the refined Breitling logo, along with eye-catching hits of color in a nod to the watchmaker.

To go along with the sleek bike, Breitling debuted a custom version of its Chronomat B01 — suffice to say, the combination is an intoxicating blend of rugged functionality and luxury-minded precision.

It’s not the first partnership between the duo, as Breitling previously designed an equally impressive, road-ready version of the Breitling Top Time B01 in an icy black-and-blue colorway.

There’s long been an exclusive air to Breitling watches, like the recent North America-only Breitling Superocean Automatic, and the new Triumph x Breitling partnership comes at a similarly exclusive cost.

To be more specific: Less than 300 units of the newest Triumph motorcycle are available worldwide, and it’s with the purchase of that propulsive, muscular bike that owners will have the chance to score the made-to-order Triumph Owners Exclusive watch.

The meeting of the minds is a natural one, Triumph said, calling the collaboration a joint venture between “two pioneering brands known for precision engineering, performance, and style.”

The watch is handsome and certainly covetable, a fine pairing alongside a rugged Triumph bike: It boasts a brown alligator strap and a carbon dial, plus triple-chronograph functionality.

18-karat red gold and titanium deliver depth and durability across the 42mm case, with the color scheme “echoing the dark shades of the motorcycle.”

The textured leather strap evokes the open road, and the Chronomat itself “bucked the quartz trend,” Triumph noted: The new model nods to the original 1983 introduction of the distinct mechanical chronograph design.

The elegant-yet-tough Breitling timepiece has plenty of utility and bold style fit for the open road in its own right, deepening the Breitling-Triumph bond.

“The Chronomat and the Speed Triple 1200 RR exemplify our joint devotion to the highest standards of design and performance,” Breitling CEO Georges Kern said. “With Triumph, we share a rugged spirit that combines artistry with adventure.”

Only 270 editions of the motorcycle are on the market, so those interested in a watch-meets-moto pairing should register their interest online at Triumph, ideally sooner rather than later.
