The haute horology masters at Ulysse Nardin are charting an impressive new course once again, and in doing so in ever more intricate fashion with the new Ulysse Nardin Blast Tourbillon Blue and Gold.

Ulysse Nardin calls it a “journey into the future,” and its striking double-X design is just one thing for watch enthusiasts to fall in love with from the esteemed watchmaker.

At the heart of the Blast Tourbillon is, naturally, the flying tourbillon skeletonized movement itself, complete with a silicium escapement.

The movement itself is the company’s precisely designed UN-172 Manufacture caliber, with a power reserve of a whopping 3 days.

Ulysse Nardin fittingly calls it an “avant-garde” watch that “expresses its full power through the juxtaposition of colors and materials and the perfect integration of all its components.

Notably, it’s also the first time the watchmaker has used both rose gold and blue in a fittingly fiery, visually appealing final product.

The Blast design isn’t a new one for the horology masters at Ulysse Nardin (the first Blast watch was introduced at Watches and Wonders 2020), but it’s impressive nonetheless — and boasts a similarly eye-catching price tag at about $67,000.

It recreates the design of other Blast X series watches (including an icy blue iteration and boasts similar attention to detail, with 137 parts and a handsome velvet and rubber strap as a suitably luxe finishing touch.

Ulysse Nardin calls the watch “explosive and innovative,” and one glance tells you all you need to know: The Blast Tourbillon certainly lives up to the hype.
