If You Have A Kidney To Spare, You Can Have These Yeezy Boosts
Well, this is one way to find a donor.
There’s a lot of things that people say they’d give their kidney for and now it’s time to put up or shut up. Matt Neal, a 26-year-old guy from Michigan, took to Facebook last week to test the accuracy of that statement putting his Yeezy Boosts up for whomever was willing to donate a kidney. This isn’t a silly stunt though: Neal’s got two failing kidneys and is actually looking for a donor.
“It started as a joke, but within an hour it turned into something way more serious,” Neal told MLive.com on Friday. “I didn’t expect to get a kidney from a pair of Yeezys. I just want to stay alive. I have Yeezys, and I need a kidney, so I posted it.”
Let’s be clear: Neal isn’t looking to trade his kidney, per se. That is illegal and something he wouldn’t do. Federal law stipulates that there can be no money or merchandise exchanged for an organ. Neal was really thinking if someone were kind enough to donate a kidney, he’d be kind enough to donate his kicks. See, no mischief here.
The original post has clocked 1,900+ likes on Facebook and according to his posts, gotten a fair share of feedback from potentials . According to TMZ some notable feedback came from the Yeezy Boost designer himself, Kanye West, who said he’d be up for replacing the coveted styles if Neal does end up donating them to someone else. Seems like a good deal all around!
