When the Shanghai Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs on November 28 it will have gone through a few major challenges for such hotly-anticipated event. When four superstar models couldn’t obtain a visa to even enter China, VS was definitely in a bind.
Stunner Ashley Graham recently challenged the lingerie and sleepwear giant in a different way. She posted a striking shot of her on the runway in a pair of wings and her caption contained an unmistakable shot across the bow. “Got my wings! đŚđđđ .. my #AdditionElle wings! #thickthighssavelives.”Â
Even if Graham wasn’t actually directing the comment at Victoria’s Secret, other plus-sized women have directly addressed the issue.Â
A Cosmopolitan article published in September pointed out that even though this year’s Fashion Show is supposed to be diverse “with almost half of the models being of black, asian, or hispanic descent,” none of those models are plus-size.Â
Once you see her in wings Ashley Graham seems a natural choice for such a high-profile showâin every sense of the word. Take a look at an excellent argument in the form of images and Instas from her incredible account below. [NYLON]
