Sarah Dumont fell out of love with fashion. The aspiring actress made the career shift from modeling to acting after auditing a few classes in Los Angeles, and she never looked back. “I realized I didn’t want to be a model anymore, so I just packed my bags and moved to LA,” Sarah told Maxim. “I think if you want to be a successful model, same with acting, you really have to want it and love it. And I think at 20, I just stopped loving it.”
While she first got our attention as sultry ‘Sequins’ opposite Joseph Gordon Levitt in Don Jon, Sarah’s repertoire and reputation have continued to gain serious traction in Hollywood. Next up on her docket: Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, an upcoming horror-comedy where this blonde bombshell proves she’s more than well-equipped to be the leading lady.
“Scouts was definitely one thing I loved doing. I love action, and doing all those stunts. I’m a tomboy so watching shit explode was always awesome for me. Being on a set with comedy is the best too because you’re always laughing and cracking jokes and it’s just always good vibes.”
In the film, Sarah portrays Denise, a high school dropout who works as a cocktail waitress at a strip club. She’s a ‘no questions’ kinda gal, with a penchant for leading the charge and enjoying the thrill of a little zombie ‘killin. “It’s really nice when I first read the script to see the female character as strong and independent and not the damsel in distress.”
We like a girl that can take charge.
Sarah spoke with Maxim about crushing on Kristen Wiig, loving her legs, and her dream to be a villain.
1. If you weren’t an actress and you could do anything else, no training required, what would it be?
I’d probably be an astronaut. What’s cooler than going into space?
2. What’s your favorite curse word to use?
Fuck, it’s very versatile. It could be a verb, a noun, a pronoun. You can use it for anything. Fucking motherfuckers fucking fucked.
3. What would you say is your favorite part of your body?
Definitely my legs. I have long legs and they get me places faster. Except sometimes they’re hard to find jeans for.
4. If a guy wanted to get your attention, what should he do?
Make me laugh. Funny guys go a long way. Generally speaking, I’m not into cheesy pick-up lines, but they’re always funny to hear.
5. Is there a role that you’re dying to play?
A villain, like a Bond villain or a superhero villain. I just think they’re much more interesting.
6. Any girl crushes right now? Who’s on your radar?
I kind of have a girl crush on Kristen Wiig, I mean she’s super funny. I really like her. Funny people I just want to be around.
7. What do you like to wear to feel your sexiest?
A really sheer, loose t-shirt. A sheer, long t-shirt that you can see through is definitely the sexiest thing you can walk around the house in.
8. Who are some actresses that you really look up to in the industry?
I’ve always loved Cameron Diaz and Angelina Jolie because both of them play a lot of strong action roles and Cameron is always the funny girl. But my ultimate goal is to be Betty White. And I’d love to be in a sitcom in my sweatpants, making money, making people laugh. That’s the dream.
9. How should a man be groomed? Do you have a preference?
I’m into scruff and short hair on guys. Very few guys can pull off long hair. Maybe Vikings, yeah. But not in this life.
10. So what’s next you for you?
I want to keep making movies, or a TV show would be good. I just want to keep acting, doing what I’m doing, making more money hopefully.
