Hot 10: Susie Abromeit
The rising star talks Jessica Jones, communing with nature, and the sexiest thing a guy can do.
Telling stories has always been part of Susie Abromeit‘s nature.
“I was always an artist,” the Boston native told Maxim. “If there’s a different way that I can tell a great story, something that can move someone, or inspire someone, that’s something that inspires me.”
After taking a detour to pursue a potential future in professional tennis, the rising star realized her true calling and shifted back into the Hollywood spotlight. The highlight from her career thus far? Marvel’s Jessica Jones, the highly anticipated Netflix series set to premiere for all your binge-watching pleasures on Friday, November 20th, in which Susie plays the elusive Pam.
”I can’t tell you a whole lot, but I can tell you that Pam is a very interesting, dynamic, sensual character,” she told Maxim. “She has a lot of obstacles she has to overcome. I really liked diving into Pam’s life. It was a beautiful, beautiful experience, and a challenging one for sure.”
There’s already plenty of hype surrounding the new live-action addition to the MCU, but here’s your new reason to get excited.
Susie told Maxim about loving a man’s confidence, working on Jessica Jones, and romancing her with a little wilderness.
1. If you weren’t an actress and you could do anything else, no training required, what would it be?
It’s funny, because this is my dream, and I think, ultimately, contributing in a beautiful way, and figuring out what that means and what that is, that’s something that really interests me. Sometimes I think about being a doctor and helping people. I have the utmost respect for the people who save lives. They cure cancer! Like what! I mean, maybe I’d be Einstein, that would be kind of cool. Einstein would be a cool person to be.
2. Is there a movie you continue to watch that you never get bored of?
Braveheart. It’s just so epic. I identify with the love story, I identify with his struggle, his reticence to not become the hero. He’s like no, no, no. He’s kind of the reluctant hero and then when his wife is murdered, that’s when he’s forced basically into starting a revolution.
3. What do you wear when you want to feel your sexiest?
There’s this new company called Yoggx and they make like stretchy, amazing, colorful pants that are comfortable, and every time I wear them I get compliments. They’re like amazing flower pants, and I’ve never gotten more compliments in my entire life. So I can see myself be kind of a tomboy, but then also feel sexy. So I guess it’s the combination of both.
4. If a guy wanted to get your attention, what should he do?
I’m all about presence and eye contact. Confidence. Confident eye contact. A man who can be a man and come over, and be honest and authentic. I think that is the sexiest thing you could ever be.
5. And another question about guys – do you prefer a man who’s a little rougher, or someone who’s clean shaven?
I like me some scruff! Yeah, I like a man with a beard, I like a manly man. I mean, he can have quirks, do some sewing or whatever. I think that’s beautiful. But then also a man who can work with his hands, who can fix anything. A man who can make me feel like a woman. There’s two parts of me, like everyone: masculine and feminine. We all have both parts of that. When I can feel more in line with my femininity, yeah. That’s just hot.
6. So what about man buns? Is that a deal breaker?
Now we’re getting into all sorts of Rico Suave creepy. That’s the dude who just kept on doing the Rico Suave a little too long. Right? Isn’t that what a man bun is, like the guy who’s forty and still sporting a man bun? Men, please don’t do that! If you’re like a surfer, and you have some longer hair and you’re surfing through the water, that’s sexy. But it’s the only place that that’s sexy.
7. Now what would you say is your favorite part of your body?
My eyes. It’s the window to the soul!
8. Are there any women in Hollywood right now that you can’t take your eye off of?
Carrie-Anne Moss. Working with her – she’s a beastly, beastly woman. Just empowering, everything I feel a woman is and represents, strong, powerful, beautiful. I am woman, hear me roar. That’s Carrie.
9. If you could do anything on an ideal date, what would you do and where would you go?
Anything in nature, I love camping. Romance me that way. Like a picnic, somewhere next to the ocean. Anything that has to do with nature, trees, it doesn’t get more magical than that. We can man-make anything, but oh man, sitting on a beach with a sunset is a pretty incredible thing to share.
10. So what’s next for you?
After Jessica Jones, I don’t know! I guess you’ll just have to stay tuned and watch and see what happens when it comes out!
