Invicta Ring Card Girl Natasha Wicks Talks MMA, Maxim & Modeling

We caught up with Natasha ahead of this Saturday’s live television event, Invicta FC6, to ask her the same 10 questions we always ask everyone!

You were the Maxim/UFC Octagon Ring Girl winner – what was that experience like for you?

The best part about winning the Octagon girl search was everything that followed – the front row seats at the fights, the traveling, the modeling opportunities, the friendships, the fans, and even still years later, opportunities like tours for the troops, the magazine features, and spokesmodeling!

Is there much difference between being a UFC Octagon Girl and an Invicta FC Phoenix Girl?

There’s really no comparing them. I feel more at home with Invicta than I ever did with UFC. Invicta President Shannon Knapp sought me out and wanted me on the team. She saw me as a strong woman, athletic, a fan favorite and wanted me to represent the organization for those reasons. With UFC, I won a contest, the boss men didn’t pick me. They are the leading MMA and WMMA organizations, and I couldn’t be more honored to say I’ve represented both!

Are you still modeling?

I’m doing very little modeling right now. I’m open to it and have had many opportunities, but my head and focus is somewhere else – running, training, racing, trail running championships, Olympics! Not seeking modeling gigs or auditions. If an offer comes my way that is ideal and works with my training schedule, then it’s a go!

You’re now a sponsored distance runner for Ryno Running, what’s your best tip if a guy wants to get into this kind of sport?

Run. Sign up for races. Oh, and run!

Is it true you’re training for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil?

I actually hate talking about that goal – only because it’s my personal dream as a competitive runner to be at that level, racing the best in the world. I’m training hard every day – having been a collegiate runner at Northern Arizona University, I trained with some of the most phenomenal athletes. I know how to work hard.

What kind of guy interests you?

A healthy one. Healthy mindset, healthy body, healthy sexual appetite, healthy outlook on life and a huge healthy sense of humor!

AND NOW: THE 10 SAME QUESTIONS WE ALWAYS ASK EVERYONE!

What was the last thing you had to apologize for?

I work part time in a running store in Santa Cruz and Campbell CA. I love all things running, and that was my way of getting connected with the running community out here in the Bay Area. I could not give a guy a refund for the running shoes he bought, because he bought them six months ago. Sorry I’m not sorry!

What’s your favorite curse word?

Dammit!

What’s the worst hangover you’ve ever had?

Oh boy, the worst hangover I’ve ever had was after I drank sangria with dinner and then had vodka/cranberry in the club. Puke city the next day!

What was your first car?

A 1990 white four-door Honda Civic. I paid $5000 for it when I was 16, after saving all my babysitting money since I was 11-years-old.

Do you have a scar that tells a story?

Have I got a scar or two! I have a bunch on my knees from all the running/falling I’ve done over the years, and the biggest ones I got in the summer of 2011. I had just bought a new Sector 9 longboard and was taking it for a test drive at Venice Beach. I started off down a big hill, got the wobbles and was cart-wheeling, sliding, flipping, and rolling all over the asphalt. I had a second degree burn on my right ass cheek, my right forearm, my right hand and my left shoulder. I was still all bandaged up on my first Tour for the Troops in Iraq a week later.

Do you have a party trick?

I am drunk after three drinks. Is that a trick?

What’s the biggest thing you’ve ever put in your mouth?

The biggest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth is a giant cucumber I just pulled from my own garden!

What’s the one thing to remember in a fist fight?

Duck, dodge, dive, dip, and dodge!

Who was the last person to see you naked?

My boyfriend Kyle Kingsbury…and his mother.

Finish this sentence: If I ruled the world for a day, I would…

I would take away loneliness.
