Naomi Campbell Says Her Supermodel Posse Was Never a ‘Squad’
Is there a supermodel generation gap?
We’ve long assumed that Taylor Swift and her sultry #squad were following in the footsteps of another famous girl group — that of Naomi Campbell and her coterie of fellow ‘90s supermodels. The British beauty insists that is not the case.
“We were never a ‘squad,’ we were just friends,” Campbell told People about her friendships with Christy Turlington, Stephanie Seymour, and Cindy Crawford. “We were not looking to call us a group or like, alliance. We just were friends, end of story.”
It’s as if there’s a supermodel generation gap, with Campbell clearly making a dig at T-Swift and friends. But there are undeniable similarities between the groups. For one, Campbell told People that they have each others’ backs through thick and thin: “If something great happens to one of us, we’re the first to wish each other congratulations.”
Be that as it may, we don’t see Naomi joining forces with T-Swift anytime soon to form a sexy #supersquad.
