From our friends across the Atlantic, say hello to Maxim South Africa’s latest cover model, Zita Vass.

You might recognize this stunner from one of her various acting roles, which includes stints on Californication and How I Met Your Mother. Now, she’s taken her “girl next door” appeal to a new venue as she sizzles on a white sandy beach.

Check out exclusive photos from the Maxim South Africa shoot in the gallery above.

While you’re at it, read up on Zita’s latest acting pursuits and passion for pranks in an exclusive interview with Maxim South Africa.

Zita, how old were you when you broke into the modeling scene?
I was 14 years old, sitting at my favorite burger joint called “In-N-Out”.

Wow, okay, so still very young! What happened once you were discovered?
I moved to Hollywood at 16 to begin modeling and acting, all while studying at the Art Institute of Pasadena.

Most people have misconceptions that the quickest way for a model to get noticed is to strip down into lingerie…but that’s not how you got discovered.
No, I shot advertising campaigns for Sears worldwide. I’ve done All-American Girl campaigns, glamour girl and high-fashion brands such as Guess, Bebe and Uniqlo. I have been told that I have an “innocent, girl-next-door” look about me!

Tell us about your acting career.
My career started with a bang – literally! I played the recurring role of Destiny in Californication with David Duchovny. I then went on to other TV roles on Big Time Rush, How I Met Your Mother, and Aim High, as well as several movies including Sci-Fi’s remake of Stephen King’s Children of the Corn and Dibs. I will also be appearing in Supermodel starring Tyson Beckford and Tatyana Ali, and Truck’d Up starring David Arquette.

Where do you live now?
I live in Los Angeles.

What do you do in your free time?
I love pulling pranks on friends! I am also busy studying, pursing my passion for burlesque.
